Hmmm... How would that work? There is nothing to screw it into on the front of an MX-5...

I have no idea I'm just the web encyclopaedia

Best person to ask is SeahH in the Nutz house ;) Tell you what I'll finish up my job properly and ask him - back soon :-D

Right, double post time ;)

Spoken to Sean who by the way has made it through to the 2nd round of the 'fun cup' thingy he did :-D

He hasn't actually got an aftermarket tow eye - he has just painted his up, but the suggestion is to take off the two that are there, weld a bar between them and fix a central one in. In doing this it very tough & wouldn't result in any chassis twist :D

Or alternatively take a good look and I'm sure there must be somewhere to fix it even if it means bolting a small plate in ;) I'm at Rolands with a few of the other SERoadsters tomorrow so will have a good look and see what the possibilities are :-D

I like the idea of painting the tie-down hook. Sounds like a cheap race-look mod. I'm sure I've still got some yellow smoothrite left. ;)

yellow!?

i prefer red :-D

you can get motorsport approved towing eyes specific to the mx5 (from goodwin racing in the states - not cheap tho...), but these just bolt to the same holes as the tie down hooks - the only difference is that the eye is bigger.

I agree red looks better on a white car like yours John. I already have the yellow paint and at the mo my caliphers are yellow which I think quite suits the green of the car. Looks a bit Lotusy. :-)
